About the Vale Players

Welcome to the Vale Players Amateur Drama Group website. Formed in 1990 and based in Snainton the Vale Players ADG perform plays and murder mysteries to audiences from the local Scarborough Area. We are a small group with a membership of about 30 cast and crew, but are always looking to expand wherever possible.

Latest Production

Mamma Mia Murder 2009

The Vale Players are currently performing on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, appearing each Saturday evening during June with two Murder Mysteries "Mamma Mia Murder" and "Death of a Pirate".

The first of these follows the aftermath of a murder in an Italian restaurant and the second takes diners aboard the pirate vessel the Black Barnacle sometime in the 1800's.

The action takes place up and down the train as diners are treated to dinner on a themed menu whilst steaming through the lovely scenery of the North Yorkshire Moors.

This is the Vale Players second summer on the railway and this year after looking behind the scenes and seeing the hard work and dedication of staff and volunteers on the NYMR, we have decided to support the Bridge and Wheels Appeal with a donation of £1000.

Current Production

At present the Vale Players are busy working on the Murder Mystery plays for the summer, but hope to bring you another exciting production later this year.
